Over the years, we have extensively tested and considered the best coating for our self-dumping hoppers. Unlike powder-coating, which is suitable for low-abuse settings, we have found that when powder coatings chip, moisture seeps behind the coating, causing rust to form and the coating to peel off rapidly in dump hoppers and waste management settings. Instead, our painted approach reduces the risk of moisture seepage and long-term corrosion.
Good question! Creekside Manufacturing’s self-dumping hoppers do not use pin-less technology.
Here’s why: We have thoroughly evaluated pin-less approaches to self-dumping hoppers, and we are not convinced that this approach is ideal for most customers. The traditional pin in our self-dumping hoppers keeps the dumper on track as it pivots forward. We have repeatedly observed that the pin-less approach creates multiple pinch points and ultimately leads to failure points, resulting in durability issues in the long run.
Proper manufacturing of self-dumping hoppers, with a traditional pin, requires attention to detail, skilled welding and planning, and experience. Our self-dumping hoppers can last for decades.
